I headed to Weber State University in Ogden, Utah after graduation. I enjoyed college life and had a blast being on the track team. In high school, high jump was what I was good at, however college was a whole new game. I was alright at the high jump and got a little better, but my coaches made me start running and I got pretty good at the 400m. While on the track team I met my husband Matt and we were married in June of 2003.
We both graduated in May of 2005; I graduated with a bachelors in elementary/special education and he with a masters in accounting. We had our first child, Caleb, that summer and moved into our first home a week later in Bountiful, Utah. It was a crazy year! We enjoyed that home and Matt worked in Salt Lake a lot. In October of 2006 we had our first girl, Leah. We had a new job opportunity come up so we sold our home in August 2008 and moved to an apartment in Riverdale, UT while we built our new home in Farr West, UT. We added our third child, Annie, in September 2008. After moving into our new home, we have loved our new neighborhood and job. Lily was born not too long ago in June 2010. I have not had much time to work outside of the home since graduation, but most days have loved being a mom and getting to teach my children.

Ten years in ten bullet points
• 2000 – Graduated from Burley High School
• 2001 – 2003 – Served LDS mission in the Philippines
• 2005 – Got into Jack Kerouac in a big way, hitchhiked to Kansas City and met Amanda
• 2006 – Graduated from Brigham Young University (BS Mathematics)
• 2006 – 2008 – Joined Teach For America and taught secondary math in Baltimore City
• Summer 2008 – Started dating Amanda in New York City.
• 2008 – 2009 – Taught a third year in Utah
• April 25 2009 – Married Amanda
• Fall 2009 – Started a concurrent JD/MPP program at the University of Michigan
• Summer 2010 – Spent the summer with Amanda in the Philippines doing research in development economics.
Sad to say that Amanda and I won’t be able to attend the reunion. We are flying in from the Philippines on August 4th and will be in Burley through the 8th. We will then be heading back to Michigan to spend some time vacationing with Amanda’s family before Amanda returns to her job as a graphic designer and I prepare for my first year of law school. We will be thinking of you all and wish we could be there.

After graduation I served a mission for the LDS church in the Philippines. I became fluent in Tagalog and can declare that I ate like a native. Balut anyone?
After my mission I wasted a few years moving around, doing some classes here and there, selling security systems, and working different jobs. Finally, I decided to pursue a career in design drafting with the goal of becoming an architect. I graduated with my design drafting degree from ISU in 2006. Right after that I turned around and decided to go back to school to become a teacher and a coach. While attending Idaho State, I played 4 years of NCAA club baseball and still try to play on any team I can find. I have one year left until I graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major of History and a minor in Business Education.
In May of 2005, I married my beautiful wife, Katherine Moses (Lisa’s little sister). She just graduated from Pharmacy school and is now working as a Pharmacist at Ridley’s in Rupert.

Kaleb Adam Hope was born in June of 2009. He is the happiest and best son anyone could ask for. He is 13 months now and learning new things every day like walking, pointing to where his nose is, and how to steer a car (don’t worry it’s not moving).
In September of 2009 we moved back to Burley to help with Katherine’s dad who passed away from cancer and have been happy to stay close. We just bought our first home and love it. There is nothing better than finally having a space to call your own. We hope to stay in the area when I graduate next year and hope to get a teaching job at Burley High School if at all possible.

Where do I begin besides it definitely does not feel like it could possibly be ten years already. After high school it seemed like forever away now its next month. My story begins with me getting married and having my son right out of high school! How did that work out for me? Well my son is definitely the best thing that has happened to me! His name is Jakolby and is nine years old. He still keeps me busy. My marriage didn't quite work out as planned but that's ok! I then went to school at CSI to attend the Rad Tech Program and the semester that I was going to apply was when I lost my best friend who happened to be my brother. It was really hard for me to focus on school after such a great loss and ended up taking a semester off which easily led to another and then life happens............ during my second semester at CSI, I met my best friend who's name is Esteban Torres in 2004 I worked for the Cassia County School District as a para-educator for a few years while going to school and really enjoyed it. Later in September of 2008 Esteban and I got married. We lived in Boise and recently moved back to Burley a year ago so I guess you can say I'm back. It is really a good place to raise your kids and Jakolby definitely considers it home. I work as a dental assistant and really enjoy it. I have never been so happy with life like I am right now I couldn't ask for a better husband or son. I feel so blessed to have such amazing men in my life they are amazing! Recently I just feel so healthy and suddenly became super hooked on Zumba and started to run! So far I have done a 5k and 10k working my way up to a half marathon! There is something about the adrenaline from running and when your endorphins kick in it gets you hooked. Well I really look forward to seeing everybody.

Oh how time flies
After my senior year in Burley I went off to Ricks which soon turned into BYU-Idaho. I started off in Elementary education and after realizing that I don't like being with 30 children at a time I switched my major to Communications. I majored in Advertising with a minor in Physical Education. In 2002 I got married to Erik Nielson in Logan Utah and a year later I had triplet boys Adam, Tyler and Nathan.

Two weeks after my boys were born I went back to school to finish my degree. Two years later I and my husband graduated. Erik got into Med school at Penn State Medical Center. We all moved to Hershey Pennsylvania. After Erik Graduated in 2009 we stayed in Hershey so that he could do his residency in Anesthesia there. I am a stay at home mother and in 2008 I had a little girl named Abigail. Life is crazy but a ton of fun. We love it out east but do hope to come back west one day. I can't believe it has been ten years!

Doesn’t it seem like 10 years has gone by to quickly?! This just means we’re all getting old! After graduating in May 2000 I moved to Pocatello to attend Idaho State University. I played way more than I went to school but loved every minute of it and made some great friends and memories. I stayed at ISU for 2 years then thought I’d go to CSI to study in the Rad Tech program. Other circumstances brought me back to ISU the following year and I decided to just finish out my degree in Health Education. After completing an internship with the local hospital in Pocatello I was offered a full time job in the Education Department as the Coordinator of Community Education and events…a great position for being right out of school! I love my job and feel very fortunate to be working in my field of study. I teach CPR and First Aid classes (among lots of other classes) to our staff and community and I also plan big events for the hospital and our outreach program. Something I’ve become passionate about is heart disease education and awareness and promoting our heart center at the hospital. I get the spend the whole month of February traveling and teaching about heart disease for the Go Red for Women movement through the American Heart Associate and our local hospital. I work tirelessly through the month of October to promote breast cancer awareness and my biggest event of the year (Brake for Breakfast) falls during that month. All this keeps me really busy and on my toes but I love every minute of it!

Most of my summers and holidays while going to school were spent in Sun Valley. I loved living up there and hope that one day I’ll get to live there again! I was a nanny for a couple great families and got to meet some really amazing (and famous!) people while I was there. While going to ISU I met my amazing hubby Blair and we were married in 2005. He’s a very talented contractor and has built a successful construction business here in town; known especially for his quality work and honesty with his clients. We bought a home 3 weeks before we were married and gutted it down to nothing! So, right off the honeymoon the remodel process started. It was so fun…but so much work. I don’t ever want to do it again. We recently sold our super cute first home and are in the process of building a house this summer.

We haven’t added any kiddos to the mix yet but we love to spoil our black lab, Gibson. We’ve recently been approved for adoption so we’re waiting to see what that road brings. My family still lives in Burley so I enjoy every chance I get to go “home”. I loved my time at Burley High with everyone and often reflect back on some great memories! I’m looking forward to catching up!

Many of you know that I joined the Army National Guard during High School and proceeded on to Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training following graduation. What many may not know is that it shaped the rest of my life in MANY ways.

I started college at the University of Utah directly after my Army training and proceeded down a Pre-Dental path. My plans were altered my Junior year of college when I was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III. I spent 18 months serving as a Combat Medical Specialist and gathered more life skills than one can truly imagine. While there the prestige of Dental School became less important and I started thinking about what I was truly passionate about and how I'd continue my life at home in order to enjoy every moment. While in country I spend my free time competing in fitness and weight lifting competitions. I was very successful and thanks to the extra 20 pounds that Army chow had placed on me....I was a force to be reckoned with!
Once home I realized that strength training was my passion, but I desired a leaner physique. That is when I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer and began supporting myself working as a trainer while I finished school. While working at a local gym I was approached about possibly competing in Natural Bodybuilding as a Figure athlete. I started training immediately for my first competition in 2007. I enrolled at Idaho State University and stayed close to the family I'd missed so much by busing up to campus daily. My degree didn't change, but I thought more along the lines of Physical Therapy for my future. During the shadowing process I realized that I was more in love with my current part time job as a trainer than I was with PT! My senior year was spent swallowing my pride, finishing my Bachelors degree (with no plans for attending Grad school as I had always expected I would), and preparing to open my very own Private Personal Training Facility!

I found the love of my life while on deployment and in 2007 we were married. In 2008, just eight months later, I graduated with my BS in Zoology from ISU and four months after becoming Mrs. Toolson my gym was open to the public.

I leaned out a bit since my days in Iraq and now compete in Natural Bodybuilding competitions in the Figure division around the Western United States. I have been very successful in my short year of competing. I took a short break from competing to start a family and my baby girl, Danika was born April 3, 2009.

8 months after she was born I was back on stage and just after her 1st birthday I received my Profession status after capturing a major title. I will compete for the remainder of this year as an amateur before competing professionally next year. I have a busy business and I specialize in competition preparation as well as personalized health and wellness programing. I am in love with what my life has become and am extremely pleased what all the unexpected has led to.
As a side note: I happen to have a show one week before the reunion, so I hope you will all understand my lack of participation at dinner, but I will be there to catch up with you all a few feet shy of the buffet line. :^)

Following graduation I attended Ricks college to study mechanical engineering. In January 2001 I left to northern Argentina to serve an LDS mission. I returned to BYU-Idaho in January 2003 to study secondary education. I met Brooke Mackay in the fall of 2004 and we were married in March of 2005. Brooke graduated with a bachelors degree in communications in August 2006 and I graduated with a degree in secondary education in April 2007. We moved from Rexburg to Las Vegas where I student taught and began working for the clark county school district as a Spanish and Government teacher. I left the school district in December 2008 due to coming budget cuts and began working for Enterprise rent a car in January 2009. In March 2010 I was promoted to be a station manager over the National/Alamo brands at the Reno airport and we moved there in April. We continue to live in Reno and enjoy the smaller area and nicer weather. We enjoy my days off together and look forward to having children soon.

Photos for the slideshow

Hey Everyone!

A BIG THANK YOU to Lindsey Suits for making the reunion slideshow for us!!

I just checked in with her, and she said that she's not receiving very many pictures. So we're not going to give a limit of only sending 3 pictures anymore.

If you have any High School photos or Present ones that you want to see in the slideshow please email or send them to Lindsey (Her info is on the sidebar)!

The deadline is AUGUST 1ST! SO if you don't send photos to her then you won't be in the slideshow. And that would just be sad.....

We plan on giving EVERYONE a copy of the slideshow so hopefully that will motivate you to send your pictures in!!

If you have any questions or concerns, you can leave a comment or email us.

It's going to be fun seeing pictures of the past and present! Thanks for your help on this!
Cheers,
Nickie

After graduation I attended Rick's College (which soon became BYU-I) and majored in Elementary Education. I felt really burnt out after my first year and decided to take a break. That break took me to Urumqi, China where I taught English to an Elementary class, two Junior classes, and two Senior classes. While in China I learned two very important lessons #1 I love Chinese people and their culture and #2 I absolutely LOATHE teaching!!! Upon returning to the States I quickly changed my major.

In 2005 I graduated with a B.S. degree in Child Development.

Soon after graduation my mom sat me and Eric Pierce down and informed us that we had been dating long enough and demanded that we set a wedding date. How's that for a romantic proposal?!?! We were married in November of 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple.
I worked as a Developmental Specialist for a short period of time and then I started working with emotionally disturbed teens at an alternative high school. I absolutely loved my job and there was never a dull moment!

In 2008 I gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Kinsley, who has made life interesting. She is very strong willed, independent, and social. We love her to pieces!
Shortly after she was born Eric began Optometry School in Memphis, TN- we live in Mississippi because it is (somewhat) safer. I can't say I love it here... people don't seem to understand my "accent," the humidity is a killer, and I think health care is severely lacking. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant, awaiting the birth of baby #2 in September.

I have been really looking forward to the reunion- although an 8 month pregnant body isn't exactly the "hour glass figure" I was hoping to bring. Eric is of the opinion that the reunion is too close to my due date to travel (34 weeks) but if I end up going into labor during the reunion we hope "Dr." Tim and/or "Dr." Katie will be able to deliver the baby. And it would be an awesome story to tell people!!!
