On May 24,2000, we were all together in the gym for the last time. Getting our diplomas was a great accomplishment, we all had together. It was hard for some of us, but it was harder to say goodbye to a world we knew. I moved away to Twin and lived there from 2003 to 2009 while I was there I was in a program called SL Start which taught me to lived independently. Then in 2009, I moved back to Burley. In the 10 years I have been out of school I have lost 3 loved ones in my family and I have also gained one, I am now dating a sweet gal named Maria. Looking forward to seeing my classmates.

Hmm, where to start. Well, after graduation, I started college at the College of Southern Idaho and never really left. My life has had its ups and downs, but I take it all one day at a time. In the early summer of 2001, my grandma flew me to Salem, Ohio to stay with her for a week and took me to Amish country and to Niagara Falls, Canada while I was there. That was my first time being out of the U.S. It was beautiful back there and would really like to go back sometime soon. Shortly after I got back, I went back to CSI and finished up my Associates in Liberal Arts then went and got an Associate’s degree in Para education. After that, I tried and tried looking for a para education job, but I didn’t have enough experience for any of them. While still trying to find a job with the schools, I started working for A+ Solutions working with kids who have developmental delays and behavioral problems. After about 1yr. of that, I finally settled for a Substitute teaching job with the Cassia County School District. After I started substitute teaching, I started to kind of enjoy teaching so back to CSI I went. This time I decided to teach Secondary Education History, since I love history, and it only took me a couple of semesters to finish up with an Associate’s degree in that. However, as it turns out my U.S. History instructor, who graduated from Minico, had it in for us Burley students. I survived his class with a little extra knowledge of what I was getting myself into. As it turns out the schools in our area won’t hire female History teachers unless they can coach or teach another subject on the side. I don’t do both, so after another year of substitute teaching, I decided it was best for me to get out of the teaching business and pursue something in an area that I love doing. Last June I finally made my decision and followed my heart into the Culinary Arts program at CSI. I do love to cook and learn to cook all different kinds of food. Then just before school started, I got a phone call from Mike Johnson my advisor/instructor asking me if I would like to join the new Baking and Pastries program to make room for all of the BSU and ISU culinary students since they closed down their programs. I said sure, why not, I am up for anything. However, all of those BSU and ISU students that were supposed to be coming, we only received 1 from each school and the student from ISU happened to be a 2nd yr. Culinary/Baking and Pastries student. So that is how I got into the Baking and Pastries program. I will soon have a Technical Certificate in Baking and Pastries come Aug(when it comes in the mail). I can now make anything from Quiche Lorraine to Poached Pears in Merlot to Vegan Tapioca Pudding.
Yes, I really did help make what is on this table from scratch.
My buddy calls this “his heaven” This is called Chocolate Banana Island
I can even make some bread like Baguette, Fougasse, and my favorite Croissants.
In the fall I will be going back to school and this time it will be in the culinary class. I will be learning to make things from Stuffed Pork Tenderloin with Heir Covert and fingerling potatoes to Orange and Soy Glazed Chicken with Shitake Mushroom stuffing accompanied by Jasmine rice and braised baby bok choy to Vegan Sheppard’s Pie. Along with many other wonderful recipes I got to try out this past year. I am also hoping to move to Twin Falls to be closer to school and friends along with a job in the restaurant business. While doing all of this, I was also voted in as Secretary of my Hospitality Management Association (HOSTUER’S) Club.
We are missing quite a few from this picture.
Our club hosts an Italian Buffet in the fall and provides wonderful food for the Harvest Fest held in early November. We do a couple of other events also. With all of the money we bring in and hours we volunteer, we put it all together and go on culinary trips. In March of this year for Spring Break, 25 of us hopped on one of CSI’s buses at 6:00 a.m. on March 11 and headed for Portland, OR. Where we stayed in Downtown at a very nice hotel until March 15 then headed for Bend where we stayed the night and came home the next day. Next spring our trip will be to Vegas then at the end of my 1st yr. some of us that have enough money and want to will head to Spain for a couple of weeks, hopefully. If you want you can check out my blog, but I warn you that I don’t update it much. Plus, it might be boring to some of you, who knows.

After high school I thought the world was my oyster...then I realized I didn't like shellfish! I spent 2 years in West Virginia as a missionary where I gained an appreciation for community service and decided I wanted to work with people. After returning home I enrolled at CSI and got an associates degree in Communications. I was also on the debate team and worked as a free lance reporter for the now defunct S.I.P. By this time CSI had a center in Burley and I found it ironic that I was attending college in the same building where I went to high school. During this time I got a "temporary" job at D.L. Evans Bank as a courier. I didn't plan on being a banker, I didn't even plan on living in Burley, but a friend told me "Burley needs good people too." I have kind of accepted that as my mantra. The Bank saw I was pretty good with computers and quickly moved me to book-keeping. I held several other positions before being accepted into a management internship. I have been making business and farm loans for the last few years and boy what an interesting time to be in banking! I just recently finished a bachelor's degree from ISU in Corporate Training. The best things that happened to me since high school were marrying my wife and having kids. My wife Danielle is from Utah and we met for the first time at Lagoon. She was moving to Idaho to go to school and we kept in touch after she moved up here. I have been in several of the productions out in Oakley and at the time we were dating I was in Guys and Dolls. Before one of the shows, I called her up on stage and proposed. She of course couldn't resist my charm and said yes. However when she was walking back to her seat she was wiping off my stage lipstick! I never thought that when I proposed to my wife I would be wearing more makeup than she was. We have 2 boys: a 3-year old named Michael Anthony and our little outlaw a 10-month old named Jesse James. We still live in Burley and I still enjoy being involved in the community. I am president-elect of the Kiwanis Club, Chairman of the Heyburn Amphitheater Committee, and work with the Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross, Boy Scouts, and American Cancer Society. For our most recent escapades check out my wife's blog at http://

..... Let's go back to the beginning. After graduation, I headed out for the University of Idaho. I went through rush and spent my first year living in the Kappa Delta sorority. What an incredible way to meet 75 girlfriends. I decided that Moscow was not the town for me and transferred to Boise State University. Best choice I could have made. After starting as a Biology major, I then went to Accounting, and finally to Business Management. I graduated with my Business degree in December of 2006.
During the journey at BSU, I met my boyfriend in a psychology class. Carter is from Hailey, Idaho and we have been together for 5 1/2 years now. We currently live in the Wood River Valley and will probably be here for the foreseeable future. He is in the process of taking over the family business and I am working as a nanny/personal assistant. I work for a family with 5 kids! They keep me busy, young, and totally insane. It is so much fun and such a great learning process to be such a big part of their lives.
We bought a home and live together with our "kids". Ammo, our yellow lab, and Kodiak, our Newfoundland. Home projects and adventures with our girls are keeping us very busy. I'm slowly seeing myself turning from the city girl into the mountain girl. Isn't camouflage one of the primary colors?
I don't make it back to Burley very often, and keep in touch with very few classmates, so I am very excited for this reunion!

I headed to Edmonton, Alberta Canada to Taylor University College after high school. I met my husband at college and the two of us crazy kids got married in 2002 right in the middle of our college experience. We spent our summers in Burley and the rest of the time in snowy Edmonton where we enjoyed living in a different country and culture.
Our son Caleb was born on March 17, 2004. I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology and Shane with a Bachelor of History. We moved back to Shane's hometown of Gig Harbor, Washington (close to Seattle). Our daughter Kate was born on January 30, 2006. I have been a busy mom pretty much ever since!
Shane is working for Chinook Properties, a contracting company that works on the naval bases around the Puget Sound. I have been working part time at Starbucks to get out of the house and have some grown up time! Over the last two years we decided to put Shane's handyman skills to work and build our own home. What a lot of work that was! But it was worth it and we are happy to say we survived and love our new home, and continue to work on the huge task of landscaping 2 acres!
We are expecting our 3rd baby in October and Caleb (6) and Kate (4) are super excited to have a little one around the house!
I am looking forward to catching up with everyone in August!

Up until the last few months, the last ten years were a blur to me. I am trying to get into law enforcment, so was forced to recall the last ten years for background purposes. BOY did I have to reach! So much has happened since then.
I have had and lost girlfreinds, cars, homes, dogs, and other objects.
I have gained a beautiful wife, and two amazing children (a third by the time you read this).
Here is the order:
1-Mission to St. Louis
2-Play in St. George, Ut.
3-School (play) in Poky at I.S.U. (lived with Brock Olsen)
4-Sales in Sacremento (met Cassi Engbretson now Cassi Rose)
5-School/Construction/Subway/
6-Move to Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities) and still doing land surveying! Oh, and had Connor Joseph Rose! And Lila Lynn...
Here's some pictures.
Now you know everything!

Life has treated me well since Burley High. I graduated from BYU-I in 2004 with a bachelor's in horticulture. In July 2004 I married the man of my dreams who grew up in Declo. We had never even met until we were both at college. A year after we got married I became a dental assistant. In 2007 I certified in San Fransisco as an oral surgery assistant.
We have lived in 5 different cities and moved six times so far. A couple places in UT, Rexburg, ID and Las Vegas, NV where my first son was born in 2007, Parker Tyler Heward. We moved back to Burley almost 2 years ago and just had our second baby boy in September, Gage Gabrial Heward. We bought our first little starter home a year ago, so we are officially Burleyites again. Its crazy to be back but I am loving it.
My hobbies are triathlons and half marathons. I started running when my oldest was 8 months old and it is my sanity from my busy boys.
My husband is in agriculture and I work part time at a dental office and love being a mom.
Can't wait to see all your faces in a couple months!

After high school I went to Whitworth College in Spokane, WA. I majored in elementary education, played intramural soccer, and was active in campus leadership. During my college years I was president of my dorm, a resident assistant, and an information desk manager. I spent summers working on the program staff at Camp Sawtooth in Ketchum and as a conference assistant for Whitworth. During my senior year of college I went to Spain for Jan term where I taught English to primary students. I did my student teaching in a 2nd grade classroom.
After graduating from Whitworth in 2004 I moved back to Heyburn. I taught summer school and then spent the next two years teaching 3rd grade at Mountain View Elementary School in Burley. I also volunteered with People to People’s Student Ambassador Program and travelled to Washington DC and Los Angeles as a facilitator.
In 2006 I married Tyler Van Haaften, my college sweetheart, and moved to Seattle where Tyler is a software engineer at Microsoft and I work in an elementary school. In the past few years I have also volunteered at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, distributed food at a local food bank, hung out with kids living in transitional housing, taken art classes, and played on a dodgeball team.
In 2009 Tyler and I bought our first house and moved to the suburbs. We recently built our own arcade. We enjoy camping, hanging out in our own backyard, going to Seattle Sounders games, and playing ping pong.

Although good ol’ BHS helped me earn 50 college credits prior to entering college, it still took me 7 ½ years to complete a “4 yr” degree. I majored in Zoology and minored in Spanish at Idaho State Univ. Ever since elementary school I’ve been interested in the health professions and loved looking at optical illusions and Magic Eye 3-D pictures. I am color-blind and wear some pretty thick glasses so I decided to save some money on my visual needs while pursuing these interests by studying optometry in Memphis (free glasses and contact lenses in optometry school!) I plan to leave the South and return to the West after finishing this degree (2012).
Between 2003-2005, I moved to southern Texas to spend a couple of years as a missionary. Ironically, it was the only time in my life I’ve been offered alcohol or marijuana. It was also the only time I’ve been able to completely forget about my own desires and really learn the meaning of the phrase “whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
Five years ago, my high school sweetheart (Kiley Jones) and I were hitched in the Salt Lake City Temple. Exactly two years later I had a dream that I was holding a little girl named “Kinsley” in my arms—she was born in the summer of ’08. Our little family of 3 ½ (next baby is due in Sept) enjoys swimming pools, visiting family, and travelling. Although Tijuana Mexico is the only foreign land we’ve visited, several US sites such as DC, Hawaii, Yosemite, and New Orleans have provided us with fond memories and beautiful pictures. Most of our site-seeing trips were a result of selling home security door-to-door in Virginia, Colorado, and Nevada—which is also why ½ my wardrobe and all my windows say “APX Alarm” on them.
I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had as a missionary in Texas, as a father and husband in Memphis, and as a Bobcat in Burley.
I really look forward to seeing old friends!
Con amor,
E. Pierce

I graduated from Burley High School. GO BOBCATS! :) I attended BYU-Idaho and received my associates in social science. In 2002 I went to dental assisting program in Orem, UT. I met my handsome man-Nick (I know we're Nick and Nickie-so adorable right? lol) who was attending BYU at the time. May 8, 2004 we were hitched in the LDS Logan Temple. {Best day of my life!!!} We packed up our things and moved to Philadelphia so Nick could go to Jefferson Medical school. Currently we are still here in Philadelphia while Nick completes a Radiology Residency for the next 4 years. I graduated at Harcum College in May 2007 in dental hygiene and currently work 1-2 days a week. So on most days I'm a busy stay at home Mom--the hardest, but most rewarding job all at the same time. I love it and am grateful everyday(well okay....most days).
On September 9, 2007 we were blessed with our Alexa Nickole who is now 2 1/2 years old. She's full of energy, and is our sunshine! She's miss independent and is the best big sister to Chloe Grace who joined our family on July 10, 2009. Chloe is so easy going, and has a love for music! Anytime music is playing she is mesmerized. She adores her big sister and we can't imagine life without her.
We have enjoyed living close to the ocean, D.C., and New York-there's never a dull moment! It's true that Philly Cheese steaks are the best; and the water ice is what helps us survive the humid summer days. As much as we are enjoying our adventure over here, we do plan on moving back somewhere on the west side closer to family in 2014. Life is good....real good!
We have a blog if you want to read more about our everyday crazy adventures:

Looking forward to catching up with you at the 10 year reunion!!
